TASI rises 0.3% amid anticipation of leading companies’ financials
Saudi’s bourse closed out the week in the green, with the benchmark index TASI gaining 0.28% or 26.25 points, to 9530.58 pts.

Thursday’s rally came amid investors’ anticipation of Q1 financial results of leading companies such as SABIC, Saudi Telecom and Mobily.

Turnover increased 2.36% from SAR 10.2 billion to SAR 10.5 billion. Today’s turnover is 2.39% higher than the weekly average of SAR 10.24 billion and 14.37% above the monthly average of SAR 9.2 billion.

Trading volume also rose 7.28% from 333.7 million shares to 358 million shares. Today’s trading volume is 11.91% higher than the weekly average of 319.9 million shares and 17.16% above the monthly average of 305.6 million shares.

Sector roundup

Ten sectors headed north, spearheaded by Transport which climbed 4%. Meanwhile, five sectors headed south, led by Energy which dipped 0.8%.

Stock performance

Gainers outperformed losers by 78 to 70, while the remaining stocks kept flat.

Bahri was the top gainer of the day, rocketing 9.85%, followed by Red Sea (+9.84%) and Arab Shield (+6.33%).

On the black side, Atheeb recorded the biggest decline, taking a dive of 6.11%, followed by Wafrah (-4.62%) and Ash-Sharqiyah Development (-34.01%).

Dar Al-Arkan was the most active in terms of trading volume and value, after 47.36 million shares changed hands at a total value of SAR 591.3 million.
